DaVinci Drops Its First E-Rig — The Electric Quartz Rig Enters the Chat

By Matt Macosko — March 11, 2026

DaVinci just entered the concentrate game. After over a decade building their reputation on dry herb vaporizers like the IQ and Classic lines, they dropped the Electric Quartz Rig — the EQ — on March 11. It’s their first portable e-rig, and at $549, they’re swinging at the premium market.

What’s Under the Hood

The headline feature is the full quartz crucible and atomizer setup. If you’re a flavor chaser, quartz is still the gold standard — it preserves terpene profiles better than ceramic or titanium. DaVinci built the heating system to be modular, which means replaceable parts down the road. That’s a big deal in an industry where most companies would rather sell you a whole new device than let you fix the one you have.

Temperature range runs from 450 to 650 degrees Fahrenheit with both precision mode and what they call “Smart Paths” — basically guided temperature progressions that ramp up during your session. You control everything through an integrated touchscreen right on the device. No phone app required. In 2026, that shouldn’t be revolutionary, but when half the market still forces you to download an app just to change your temperature, it’s worth noting.

The battery claims up to 50 sessions per charge, which would be impressive if it holds up in real-world use. There’s also a built-in water filtration system they call “Jacuzzi” with a 60ml capacity for smoother hits.

How It Stacks Up

At $549, the EQ is competing directly with the established players. The question is whether DaVinci’s reputation for dry herb quality translates to concentrates. Building a good dry herb vape and building a good e-rig are two different engineering problems. The atomizer technology, heating consistency at dab temperatures, and concentrate-specific airflow design all matter — and DaVinci is the new kid on this particular block.

What I do like is the modular approach. If an atomizer burns out, you should be able to replace it without trashing the whole unit. We’ve been beating the right-to-repair drum hard around here, and any company that designs for repairability gets points in my book.

What We Don’t Know Yet

We haven’t tested it. Nobody outside of DaVinci has had real time with this thing. Marketing specs and real-world performance are two very different things — especially with e-rigs, where vapor quality, heat consistency, and battery life under actual use conditions tell the real story.

The quartz-only approach is interesting but raises questions about durability. Quartz cracks. Silicon carbide doesn’t. For a $549 device, you’d want to know what replacement atomizers cost before you buy in.

We’ll keep an eye on the EQ as it hits the market and real user reviews start coming in. Competition is good for this industry, and DaVinci has enough pedigree to be taken seriously. But in this price range, you’re competing with devices that have years of community feedback and proven track records. Being new isn’t enough — you have to be better.

DaVinci’s EQ is available now at davincivaporizer.com. International and retail availability coming later in 2026.
